Visit San Luis Obispo County
My Experience:
About 325 miles from the Coachella Valley and 4 1/2 hours of driving allowed me to see how beautiful and green California is looking. I decided to begin my San Luis Obispo County road trip in Paso Robles, taking Interstate 5, to CA- 46 that took me straight into town.
Paso Robles has slowly transitioned from ranches to wineries, having over 200 of them. The countryside is stunning and green, and the town square is charming with a historic meets modern vibe. The town was founded in the 1800’s, and it’s nice to see Paso Robles keep its identity.
I stayed at The Oaks Hotel on Riverside Avenue. I enjoyed several things about The Oaks starting with a spacious room packed with amenities. I liked that it’s one minute from the main street, but off the beaten path and quiet. The Oaks is also five minutes from the town square on 12th street and only 10 minutes to Hunter Ranch Golf Course.
Paso Robles is a great hub for side trips to Hearst Castle, Morro Bay, Pismo Beach, downtown San Luis Obispo and more. Plus the community is family friendly and affordable.
I only had time for one night is Paso Robles, but it was one day and night of wonderful. There was a lot I didn’t see, so Paso Robles, I’ll be seeing you soon!
Part two is coming soon and will feature the town of San Luis Obispo, Pismo Beach and Avila Beach Golf Course.
