My Experience:

After my wonderful stay in Paso Robles, it was time to hit the highway and travel about 30 minutes to Pismo Beach and check-in to the SeaCrest Oceanfront Hotel. This fabulous property sits right along the cliffs with spectacular shoreline and ocean views that will make you stop and stare for hours. After settling into my comfortable room with a balcony, it was time for a stroll around the SeaCrest to see the pool and spa areas, breakfast lounge, meeting place lobby and more. There isn’t a beach, but there are steps that lead down to the shoreline and a must photograph alcove. Imagine your wedding with the ocean as your backdrop, or after the big client meeting relaxing in the patio area overlooking the ocean, another perfect day.

However it was time to visit the town of San Luis Obispo, about 15 minutes north on 101. Touted a university town, San Luis Obispo is so much more. Arts and culture abound in this charming setting, as well as the beautiful Mission, theatres, and the historic district. I spent hours walking around the town (which is easy to navigate) sightseeing, dining, and a little shopping. Certainly something for everyone including wine and olive oil tasting shops, quite fun!

On my way back from SLO, I stopped in Avila Beach. If you are a golfer, don’t miss the Avila Beach Golf Resort. This course winds through the foothill’s and back over to the bay, challenging, yet fun. There are a lot of fantastic golf courses in SLO County, so be sure and take the clubs.

California’s Central Coast epitomizes all that California has to offer, whether you’re there for a day, a week or a lifetime, the area truly is magnificent. I still have much more to see, so once again “I’ll be back!”
