My Experience:

I had the most amazing time in New Orleans, this was my first trip and definitely not my last. I enjoyed the people, the music and of course the fabulous food. However, what will remain in my mind forever is the pride and loyalty to their city the locals have.

The French Quarter Festival is the largest free music festival in the South, with over 250 performers on 17 stages throughout the French Quarter area. Along with the music are the artists that surround the square, tarot card readers, vendors and more.

I walked famed Bourbon Street and dined at Arnaud’s, 7 on Fulton, Mothers Cafe’, Palace Cafe, Court of Two Sisters, the Gumbo Shop, Cafe Du Monde and more, I’m still full from this fabulous food. I ate beignets, gumbo, the largest oysters I’ve ever seen, crawfish, turtle soup, po boys and everything I could get my hands on.

I stayed at the Masion Dupuy in the French Quarter, delicious food, wonderful accommodations and their garden area is the perfect place for a party, or wedding. I rode the street car, and was mesmerized by the opulent cemeteries. Saw my first Mississippi Paddle Wheel the Natchez, what a beauty.

If you have never been, GO! If you haven’t been in a while, then GO! Everywhere I went, from the French Quarter to the French Market, the business and convention district to the waterfront, it was clean and inviting. There is only one New Orleans, and she’s a beauty.

Check the CVB often for upcoming events, and remember, partying is not a requirement, enjoy New Orleans in whatever way makes you happy! (Second hour will be added soon)
