My Experience:
As soon as I arrived in Big Bear I asked myself, “Why did you wait so long to come back?” Only two hours away from the Coachella Valley, I immediately once again fell in love with the crisp mountain air, the smell of pine cones, the beautiful green forests, and the gorgeous blue lake.
My adventure began with a round of golf at Bear Mountain Golf Course. What a great course for all level of golfers, fun and good pace of play. Definitely take the golf clubs on your Big Bear trip. After golf I checked in to the Lagonita Lodge, minutes from downtown and nestle along the shores of Lake Big Bear.
My room was spacious, comfortable, balcony with a lake view, full kitchen, flat screen TVs, plus it felt like I was in the mountains,
and that is exactly what I want when staying in the mountains. Then it was on to three days of whirlwind fun. I found the Alpine Zoo to be amazing, as it is not a zoo but a rehab facility for animals in need. Perfect for the entire family.
Every meal I had was delicious, dinner at The Pines LakeFront has a spectacular view and a causal fine dining feel. Suggestion, make your 4th of July reservation right now at the Pines, the perfect spot to watch the fireworks.
Another scrumptious meal was at The Peppercorn Grille in The Village. The weather was so beautiful that I sat outside and people watched. My lobster ravioli was so good I couldn’t eat enough…
The Village is a wonderful street lined with a variety of shops, fire pits for the winters, flowers, restaurants and more. I enjoyed wandering up and down each side, did a little shopping and noticed how friendly everyone is in Big Bear.
Do not miss taking a helicopter tour with Helicopter Big Bear. It was so much fun I could have stayed in the air for hours. Breathtaking views, smooth and Adam is the perfect tour guide. I play on going on a longer tour on my next Big Bear trip. As you can tell, I truly enjoyed my Big Bear adventure. I will go back as soon as the snow falls because
I know my experience will be completely different.
Big Bear Lake is magical!
