My Experience:

Go back in time, or visit the future by taking the Grand Canyon Railway Tour from Williams, Arizona to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. It all begins at the Grand Canyon Railway Depot Hotel in Williams. This hub of international travelers is clean, spacious, with all of the employees making your exciting trip run smoothly and with a smile on their face. Monika at the front desk went out of her way to help several guests with computer issues, putting them at ease.

I had such a fun time, the train ride is only a couple of hours in air conditioned, comfortable cars. The attendants, mine were Sam and Karolyn are knowledgeable and fun. Once at the Grand Canyon, well, spectacular isn’t a good enough description. The Grand Canyon is a must see in your life, period. There are motorcoach tours for those who don’t want to walk or that want to see more of the rim. The lodges www.grandcanyonlodges.com along the rim are all unique and nice. I would stay in any one of them, however the Railway Tour package has you spending the night at the Maswik Lodge…open air Lodge and cabin like rooms, surrounded by forest and walking distance
to the GC.

For you computer user’s, wifi is in the lobbies and no biz centers……you’ll be too busy having fun so leave work at home. Everything is handicap accessible, so no excuses there.

For me the train ride made this and even more memorable experience. If you only want to spend the day at the GC the train leaves Williams at 9:30 am and returns, leaving the GC at 3:30 pm… Quaint, cowboyish Williams is fun, and is always there waiting for you. It’s in walking distance 200 feet from the Hotel, so park the car..mine sat for three days.

Would I go again……….YES!!! In fact I’m hoping to visit in the winter to see a stormy, snowy Grand Canyon, and I want to also take the popular Polar Express train ride..Sells out everyday so plan ahead….. Happy Rails to ALL!!!
