My Experience:
First off this wasn’t a typical TWF road trip, this trip was in conjunction with the Tucson Media Classic an event I go to annually (this was my twelfth year). Media gathers from around the globe to talk golf, play golf, and do some sight-seeing. Our home base and host hotel was the award winning Casino Del Sol. As I have talked about this property before on the show, my second trip was not different than the first, fantastic!
What was a touch different is the people I met this time beginning with Mark Scheller – VP of Community Relations, James Perry – Marketing Manager, Aaron DeFeo – Master Mixologist and Kevin Kline – Executive Chef. Offering spacious comfortable rooms, fine and casual dining, gaming, golf, amphitheater, spa, and more…Casino Del Sol is a wonderful place to stay, and close to many attractions.
As I mentioned the primary goal of this trip was golf. We played three golf courses La Paloma, Arizona National and Sewailo. All different, unique, challenging and with breath taking views. In the mist of all of this golf I did do some sight-seeing. I went to old Tucson in the middle of a huge valley, I can see why the west was won.
I also went to the Saguaro National Forest, El Presidio, and took photos of mountain ranges the went from black to red rocks.
Outdoor enthusiast will love Tucson with over 800 miles of biking trails, plus miles of hiking trails, RV campgrounds and a variety of lodging. Before I went to Tucson the first time
people would ask me why? I would reply have you ever been there, most of the time they said “No.” Create your own adventures and don’t go by what non-travelers have to say.
My two trips to Tucson have been so enjoyable, I can’t wait to go back and see what else I have missed!!
